Proper jaw alignment and healthy teeth are the primary benefits associated with braces. Maintenance is very difficult when teeth are crowed and crooked, resulting in tooth decay, gum disease, and can lead to tooth loss. Additionally, abnormal wear of tooth surfaces, inefficient chewing functions, excess gum tissue stress, and misalignment of jaw joints result from unresolved orthodontic problems. Chronic headaches and face/neck pain can result. Overall, the cost of orthodontic care can be far less than the cost associated with additional care needed to treat dental problems as a result of orthodontic problems.

Kids benefit from early orthodontic treatment by reducing crowding of teeth, reducing thumb sucking, and may eliminate abnormal swallowing and/or speech problems. Twenty percent of all orthodontic patients are over 21.

A beautiful smile that leads to more self-confidence is the most precious benefit gained from orthodontics.
